The Western government forces arrayed against WikiLeaks, and its founder, in this infowar are, to say the least, formidable and have included attacks against WikiLeaks website, domain name, bank and its ability to raise funds. From Amazon and Tableau Software kicking WikiLeaks off of its servers, to EveryDNS destroying their domain name, PayPal cancelling the account they use to raise money from donations and Swiss bank Switzerland Post Finance freezing their bank accounts the attacks have been unrestrained and unrelenting. Even worse is the vitriol emanating from America’s elite moneyed, political and mass media classes who have called for WikiLeaks founder to be labeled a terrorist, prosecuted for treason and espionage, and even assassinated without benefit of either arrest or trial. WikiLeaks founder Assange has also been caught up in what is known in spy terms as a “Honey Trap” after having sex with two Swedish women, on separate occasions, named Anna Ardin, and Sophia Wilen, and leading to sexual charges being filed against him that are so convoluted, contradictory and confusing no jury could ever convict him of anything. One of Assange’s accusers, Anna Ardin, has also been linked to a notorious CIA operative further complicating what is already being called one of the ugliest miscarriages of justice seen in modern times. For a comparison one only need look at the American’s case against Osama bin Laden, who though blamed for the 9/11 attacks, and for being the cause of 2 wars launched against the Muslim World by the US, remains on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List, but not for anything having to do with 9/11 as there still remains “no hard evidence” tying him to it. Being lost in “shock and awe” of the United States and its Allies attack against WikiLeaks is the simple fact that neither it nor its founder have broken any law. Quite the contrary as under decades old precedents established by the US Supreme Court after the release of what are called the Pentagon Papers during the Vietnam War, the releasing to the public of secret or classified government documents obtained by whistle blowers is not only legal, but a protected function of the press.
